TERRY HUTSON
KIERAN SULLIVAN, who headed up of one of Durban’s more successful ships agency businesses and was managing director of about 20 companies in all, died tragically in a motor accident on the KZN North Coast on Friday night, May 5. Sullivan (49) was managing director of PIL South Africa and Foreshore Ships Agency, in addition to Penta Holdings. His most recent business venture was Foremost Yachts, the South African agents for Italy’s Ferretti Yachts. Before starting Foreshore Ships Agency with three partners about five years ago, Sullivan headed up the local Nantai ships’ agency and worked for Maersk and Grindrod before that. According to his fellow director and friend Louis MacGregor-Langley, Sullivan lived a life of helping others and as a result he touched the lives of many. He said that business would continue with the remaining three directors running PIL South Africa as before.
