VIKESH BALDEO of MSC Logistics Durban won the top student award for the South African Customs Clearing Part II in the 1999 Skills Development Specialists Awards.
He achieved outstanding marks in both the Introduction and Advanced courses and attained a final certificated pass mark well into the nineties, according to SDS director Vernon Lavender.
Top student for the SAAFF Correspondence Course in Customs Affairs went to Ramesh Mahes from MB Logistics Royal Freight. Also based in Durban, he managed the SACC Part II Advanced and Customs Affairs courses simultaneously during 1999, ending up with the coveted customs affairs top student award.
The SDS Excellence in Training floating trophy is awarded every year to the individual and/or company whose contribution to training was exceptional during the academic year. The latest winner was Lucky Chetty from Renfreight Circle (Durban) for his contribution as a mentor.
