New facility offers flexibility for project cargo

SPECIALIST PROJECT forwarders F H Bertling have relocated to their new Jet Park premises. The move, says sales and marketing director Mike Benney, was prompted by a substantial increase in projects mainly into Africa, but also into Russia and the Far East.
The new warehouse provides 3000m2 under cover storage with hydraulic loading ramps to facilitate direct loading from the warehouse. A 35ton gantry crane has also been installed to handle containers and heavy lift cargo.
The facility gives Bertling the flexibility required to handle the packing on behalf of clients who are preparing for export projects, says Benney.
“The gantry allows us to pre-pack containers and stage them for shipment at our depot, releasing warehousing space for additional cargoes to be received and staged.
“This enables us to move large volumes through the system without causing log jams in the warehouse so that we can effectively handle several projects simultaneously without losing the flexibility.”
The company expedites, receives, stages, loads and delivers on a door to door basis to some of the most logistically challenging areas in Africa and other parts of the world.
