SHIPSHAPE Software is currently piloting a brand new web-based shipment tracking feature with one of its clients that will provide importers and exporters with a facility to track their own shipments from anywhere in the world. “It’s part and parcel of our full spectrum of EDI services available to our clients,” says MD Chrissie du Barry. “We are dedicated to our clients’ needs, and spare no effort in resolving system-related issues.” Arguably one of the most scaleable and easy-to-use systems on the market today, ShipShape software has been successfully installed and configured on a host of different networks ranging from the smaller agent to large corporate enterprises, says Du Barry. “With the level of maturity the internet has reached in last two or three years, and more accessible broadband connections, support turn-around time has been drastically reduced. “We are now able to trouble-shoot a remote site in real-time over the internet, as well as ensure that critical updates are distributed and applied instantaneously across our entire client-base.” There are several new developments on the Ship-Shape diary for the new year. These include refund applications via EDI as well as the long-overdue integration with SA Port Operations for cargo dues via EDI, says Du Barry.
