Senior Capespan executive Neil Oosthuizen - a former chief executive of Portnet - is the new managing director of Capespan Group Holdings.
Oosthuizen, 51, managing director of Capespan International Pic, the organisation's European marketing and distribution company, succeeds John Stanbury who resigned at the end of last year to take on a challenging position at construction group Murray and Roberts in Johannesburg.
Oosthuizen, expected to assume his new position early in the new year, said he was looking forward to taking up the new challenge in South Africa after almost three years in Europe.
He said the Capespan Group had gone through a period of fundamental change over the past few years and that he keenly anticipated working with a motivated executive team and staff to consolidate and enhance business in the years ahead to the benefit of all involved.
One of the first to hear
of the new appointment via this correspondent,
the PPECB's (Perishable Products Export Control Board) chief executive. Neels Hubinger, was clearly delighted.
Hubinger, who, as a former Cape Town port manager once reported to Oosthuizen, told FTW: I am thrilled at his appointment and really believe he is the right person for the job.
