The domestic terminal of the Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport will have its capacity doubled upon conclusion of the renovation, enlargement and modernisation works that has just started, reports Angop.
The information was released by the executive director for engineering and maintenance of the National Company of Airports (ENANA), Diógenes Manuel Silva.
Speaking to Angop on the occasion of the beginning of the works - going-on until July this year - Silva said that in addition to improving flight security, the company is seeking to double the terminal’s capacity from the current 600-700 passengers to about 1 200-1 300 per day.
The official said as well that the company will increase the number of check-in counters from 12 to 25, the migration and foreigner services from two to five, in addition to more commercial outlets.
The domestic terminal of the Luanda International Airport operates 13 to 15 regular flights per day to various destinations around the country, besides handling passengers flying to oil exploration zones.
