Crane Worldwide Logistics,
which established an office in
Johannesburg two years ago, has its
sights set on future expansion when
the time is right said the company’s
regional vice-president for Europe,
Middle East and Africa, Gerard
Ryan.
“The South African office,
established as a hub into the
rest of Africa, has exceeded our
expectations in terms of revenue and
customer growth,” said Ryan.
The company, which has strong
logistics contracts in the mining and
oil and gas sectors, is seeing growth
in other industries as well, having just
landed a major high-tech industry
contract.
“We’re building on our core
capabilities, using our global
experience to expand our customer
base in sectors such as manufacturing
and energy,” said Ryan, adding that
the latter offered “lots of logistics
opportunities” in Africa.
Crane Worldwide South Africa has
the edge in targeting the energy sector
as it has the back-up of the company’s
extensive expertise, he said.
