AUGUST 15 is the confirmed implementation date of the new Export Marketing and Investment Assistance Scheme which replaces the now defunct GEIS (General Export Incentive Scheme).
The new scheme offers benefits in eight different categories. In each case issues like past export performance, export potential, product type etc will be considered.
A detailed outline of the new scheme was published in FTW on July 4, 1997.
The JCCI, in conjunction with the DTI, will hold a seminar on July 29 at 16h00 to outline details of the scheme. JCCI international trade director Gordon Griffiths is the person to contact.
