GUARDFORCE INTERNATIONAL Transportation recently completed structural alterations to its warehouse that allow for the handling of fully-loaded unit load devices (ULDs). It’s part of the company’s ongoing drive to expand its Fort Knox-like facility which still holds the enviable record of not a single claim in 10 years of existence. “Risk that is associated with valuable and vulnerable cargoes can be avoided,” says director, sales and marketing, Richard Poulton. “We provide a safe alternative to the risks associated with handling sensitive cargoes in general freight warehouses and are able to prove that our clients have substantially reduced the costs of insurance premiums and excesses due to our zero pilferage record.” From its premises within the OR Tambo International Airport perimeter, the company specialises in the handling of valuable cargo like diamonds, gold and platinum, jewellery and banknotes, as well as vulnerable items with a quick resale value – the likes of cell phones, cameras and pharmaceuticals. A heliport and a fixed-wing aircraft facility allow for direct arrivals and departures by air.
