The Tema Shipyard in Ghana this week took delivery of new equipment as part of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) plans to revive the dilapidated dry dock.
According to the GPHA, the new equipment will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of work delivery in the dry dock yard.
It includes a 45-ton mobile crane – which will add to the 35-ton crane already in the shipyard – and two cherry pickers which CEO of Tema Shipyard, Francis Kwesi Micah, said would replace the outmoded equipment and facilitate the turnaround of vessels that dock at the shipyard for repair work.
