SINGAPORE AIRLINES Cargo last week launched a twice-weekly dedicated freighter service on the Brussels-Johannesburg-Singapore route. The service then flies on to Dallas before returning to Brussels. A Boeing 747-400 Mega Ark Freighter operates on the route with convenient connections to current freighter services from Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Dallas, according to the president of the airline’s cargo division, Hwang Teng Aun. “The launch of the new service linking South Africa with Europe, USA and Asia is an important step in the development of our freighter network. With strong traffic growth between these markets, we hope that these services will be beneficial to our customers and further stimulate trade,” Aun said. Singapore Airlines Cargo operates a fleet of 14 Boeing 747-400 Mega Ark Freighters on a global network that extends to 68 cities in 35 countries.
