Five major shipping lines with
regular liner service calls on
Mozambique have formed
the Associação das Linhas
de Navegação (ALN) to work
with the local authorities to
improve the competitiveness of
Mozambican ports which serve
the southern African region.
The lines are CMA/CGM,
Ignazio Messina, Maersk/
Safmarine, MSC, and PIL.
Announcing the formation
of the association, ALN
chairman Captain Roberto del
Vecchio said in a media release:
“Shipping lines have recently
made huge investments
to promote trade with
Mozambique.
“We expect these
investments will produce the
necessary results and we are
confident that we will find
the best collaboration from all
involved in the interests of the
country, its economy and most
importantly, its people”.
