The Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works has launched a R73- million project to reseal a 47-km stretch of road on the R407 between Prince Albert Road and the town of Prince Albert.
Departmental spokesperson Byron la Hoe said the project –set for completion by mid-2018 – would see the patching and resurfacing of the road along with repairs and improvements to drainage and bridge structures.
Half-width construction (involving the closure of one lane) will take place in sections with stop/go controls to manage the flow of traffic. Drivers can expect a 15-minute waiting period at stop/go points.
