More and more South
African fruit exporters
are exploring new
markets in order to grow
their industry, says Johan
Coetzee, an industry
analyst with Coface SA.
“The fruit market
experienced an
improvement in 2010 as
the international market
demand settled after the
recessionary period – and
the 2011 period looks
favourable as market
demand is returning.”
Despite this exporters
are looking to extend their
foothold and new markets
are being explored, says
Coetzee, especially in
areas such as Russia and
the Middle East.
