Acsa has suspended two employees at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport, with immediate effect.
They are Bongiwe Pityi-Vokwana, OR Tambo GM, and Kris Reddy, assistant GM: airport operations.
A communication from Mpumi Mpofu, Acsa CEO, said the suspensions followed investigations by company and law enforcement agencies into allegations of supply chain management irregularities and transgressions of the Public Finance Management Act 1 of 1999.
Mpofu’s notice said the suspensions would be followed by an internal disciplinary process, which would be expedited to allow the employees and the company to reach a speedy and fair conclusion on the matter.
In the interim, to allow for business continuity, Jabulani Khambule, current group executive: commercial, has been seconded to the position of GM: Ortia; and group executive: business development, Charles Shilowa, has been appointed to a blended role and will look after both the business development and commercial divisions. Kamal Shivanand is seconded to the position of assistant GM: Ortia.
