Shipping intelligence platforms Xeneta and eeSea have announced a partnership to offer insight into pro-forma transit times.
The collaboration will post scheduling intel gained by eeSea on Xeneta’s platform.
"By integrating Xeneta's leading ocean and airfreight rate data with eeSea's comprehensive port-to-port transit time data, shippers, freight forwarders, and carriers will be able to directly link transit times with rate fluctuations,” Xeneta has said.
It is hoped that the combined push from acute information sharing will provide “a more comprehensive view of shipping performance”.
Key advantages of the partnership include:
- Introduction of port-to-port transit times within the Xeneta platform
- Pro forma transit times at the port pair/carrier level
- Enhanced visibility into the relationship between pro forma transit times and ocean freight rates
- Improved accuracy in predicting transit times and their impact on freight rates.
Thorsten Diephaus, vice president of strategic alliances at Xeneta, said: "Our customers need to connect ocean transit times with the pricing they receive from suppliers.
“Incorporating eeSea’s pro forma and real-time transit time data into Xeneta will enable our customers to make more informed decisions, ultimately driving us towards a more efficient and transparent global shipping ecosystem."
Simon Sundboell, founder and CEO of eeSea, said they were thrilled to partner with Xeneta to provide the industry with greater insight and transparency.
“Port-to-port transit times and schedule reliability at both load and discharge are increasingly critical when selecting carrier partners.
“This partnership will empower cargo owners and logistics providers to make better decisions, both during the tender process and throughout the year."
