Ndola-based Halifax Freight
Services has broken into
the movement of power
transmission equipment
after its managing director
Perry Siatulye was appointed
director of the newly formed
Consolidated Power Projects
(Conco) Zambia.
Launched in November 2010,
Conco is already supplying
high-voltage equipment to the
Copperbelt and this was cleared
and forwarded by Halifax .
“We are working on a number
of other contracts,” he says.
Conco is active in the mining,
municipal and industrial
markets throughout South
Africa.
Other countries in which it
is active include Namibia and
Saudi Arabia.
Perry says Halifax has
differentiated itself from
traditional clearing and
forwarding agents by getting
involved in the supply of
goods as well. The company
is an approved supplier to
the Zambian government, for
which it sources a wide range
of goods.
