CHARTER BROKERS, Aviair Freight Logistics, specialises in moving goods into Africa, according to sole owner, Tomi Nowak.
“We are basically getting freight into impossible places,” she said, “with a niche market into Africa, doing what others can’t do.”
While mining equipment, building materials and equipment, and general cargo are main players in Aviair’s freight movement, telecommunications equipment to destinations all over Africa has proved to be a major contract in recent times.
“We are distributing this telecom equipment into 12 African countries,” said Nowak, “Sierra Leone, Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Uganda, Eritrea, Kenya, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo Brazzaville, and Angola.
“For this, we have been finding space on scheduled flights, or co-loading it on charter flights.”
But, while Africa is its speciality market, Aviair has ventured as far as Afghanistan and Iran in recent times - moving mining equipment into these two countries.
“We do everything and anything,” said Nowak. “If people can’t find aircraft space for their deliveries, we find it for them.”
The company has every aircraft from Boeing 747 freighters to Antonov 12s listed under its charter sources.
Getting freight to impossible places is Aviair’s speciality
