PORTNET HAS appointed Siyabonga Gama as new port manager at East London, with effect from August 1, 1997.
Gama was previously planning and development manager at Portnet in Durban. His appointment follows the departure late last year of Corrie van Rooyen who took up a position as port manager in Wellington, New Zealand. Van Rooyen's position had been filled in the interim by the port engineer Vonk Claasens.
