NAMPORT HAS implemented a modern computer system for the tracking of containers.
This enables Gauteng importers and exporters to dial in and obtain instant information on the status of container movements in and out of the port of Walvis Bay. It currently handles more than 30 000 TEUs annually, but has the capability to increase this figure to 150 000.
“We have a guaranteed container clearance time of three days at the port, and that is the longest any have had to wait here,” says
marketing and strategic development manager Jerome Mouton.
