OPENING UP Unitainer depots in both Windhoek and Oshikathi means that King & Sons, based in Walvis Bay, has now effectively put Unitainer on the Namibian map, says Walvis Bay branch manager Reinhardt KŸsters.
“We have also opened a King & Sons branch in Luderitz, where Katya Basler has been appointed as marine representative,” he says. “Staff numbers in Namibia are increasing due to growth in our business which ultimately is attributable to our reputation for dedicated service throughout the country.”
Angola, he says, has become ‘big time’. Large loads are being shipped through Luanda. “It has provided us with the largest volume increase in cargo.”
The company also acts as agent for 80% of all bulk commodities passing through Namibia’s two harbours, and on the container side, says KŸsters, increased volumes have been recorded in its role as agent for United Africa Container Lines.
