FREIGHT COMPUTER bureau Compu-Clearing Outsourcing has put its money where its mouth is when it comes to transparency and published information on its website that most companies are very reluctant to divulge - customer names and price lists.
“Besides the company name, logo and link to each client’s website, we also publish the telephone number, fax number and e-mail address, often of the chief executive,” says CEO Arnold Garber.
“We faced some initial opposition from our staff who felt we were serving it on a plate to our competitors. But we’re not concerned. We realise that we won’t keep customers by not publishing the customer list but rather by providing a good service and an excellent product. Besides, the list reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of the freight industry.”
In addition, Compu-Clearing publishes its full price list for 2003 and 2004 as well as standard contracts and a help system on which all Compu-Clearing menus are displayed.
Full disclosure is what it’s all about, says Garber.
