IN APRIL new rules for the completion of air waybills come into force, according to an SA Association of Freight Forwarders (SAAFF) announcement quoting the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Under the current IATA regulations, either dimensions or volume are only required on the air waybill when the volume weight is used as chargeable weight.
From April 1, however, it will be mandatory to include cargo dimensions on each air waybill.
If the dimensions are not available, then the total volume of the consignment has to be inserted.
