ISRAEL GODULU (45), acting controller of customs at Beit Bridge border post, died in the Pietersburg hospital last week after a short illness.
The highly respected customs official who, according
to departmental deputy director Les Geffin was
earmarked for the position of customs controller, had served at Beit Bridge for the past 10 years. He leaves
a wife and four children whose ages range from seven
to 22.
The Department of Customs and Excise in Pietersburg has indicated that a replacement will be named shortly.
