The South African Department of Mineral Resources has issued a draft reviewed charter that will force mines to ensure black people hold a minimum of 26% of their shares, online sources report.
“The draft reviewed charter has been published for a 30-day period. During this time the minister will engage with organised business and organised labour in the mining industry to get their input on the draft,” according to the department.
