The Covid-19 pandemic has scuppered plans for the July 1 launch of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
AfCFTA secretary-general Wamkele Mene said in an interview with Reuters earlier this week that it was not possible to begin trading under current circumstances on the planned date.
He gave no indication of the new launch date.
The AfCFTA is expected to create a $3.4 trillion economic bloc and boost trade within the continent.
