A lack of water supply has resulted in the closure of Kopfontein Border Post (KFN), the Transit Assistance Bureau (Transist) announced this morning.
A clearing agent told Transist that the matter was receiving attention and that commercial cargo into Botswana should be diverted to the crossings of Skilpadshek and Ramatlabama further south.
KFN is the closest transit to Gaborone, a main feeder hub for the rest of the landlocked country.
However, it is not anticipated that KFN’s temporary closure will affect supply chain from South Africa into Botswana.
