As the Covid-19 crisis continues to throw supply chains out of kilter, the Professional Body for Supply Chain Management, Sapics, has launched a ‘Covid-19 Supply Chain Management Toolkit’ which will leverage the experience of industry professionals to provide supply chain professionals with relevant information and support during the pandemic.
A help line, comprising local and international subject matter experts, will answer questions and offer guidance, advice and recommendations to help supply chain professionals with their challenges and queries.
An additional element of the initiative involves a collaboration platform on LinkedIn. “The idea is to share solutions that Sapics members are already implementing or working to implement in our South African supply chains, to mitigate the risks of Covid-19,” says Sapics president Kea Mpane. “These include supply chain management learnings as well as measures that are being implemented to ensure the safety of the employees that are the vital link in every supply chain.”
