Police in North West are investigating a farm attack in the Deelpan area where the family of Grain SA's vice chairperson, Derek Matthews, was attacked at the weekend.
According to the police, five armed suspects entered the house and tied up eight people, making off with an undisclosed amount of money.
“We haven't yet arrested anyone and our investigation is continuing,” the police said.
This comes after the release of statistics that show there have been nine attacks already this month.
There were 36 attacks and two farm murders in December last year. Over the January to December 2019 period, the tally was 472 attacks and 49 murders. – Zoë van Rooyen
