As South Africa’s maritime sector continues to transform, it has become important for the industry to develop a common brand – Maritime South Africa (MariSA) - with the Department of Transport (DoT) holding an inaugural meeting in Pretoria today (Friday) to kickstart the process.
A spokesperson for the DoT noted that the invitation was extended to various industry associations, other government departments and “various organs of state” to ensure broad consultation on the development of the brand.
Industry stakeholders have until September 4 to submit input on the brand development. The next meeting is scheduled for the first week of November.
