Emirates SkyCargo announced today (Thursday) that it will be rolling out a new cargo cover solution, jointly developed with American engineering company DuPont, later this month.
According to a statement from the airline, the new “White Cover Xtreme” will help to shield temperature-sensitive shipments – such as pharmaceuticals – which travel through extreme and variable weather conditions from origin to destination.
The new protective cover does this by acting as a shield, reflecting solar heat when temperatures are high, and as a barrier for conduction, preventing heat from escaping when temperatures are low, thereby helping to maintain the right internal temperature of the cargo.
Additionally, it prevents condensation from forming on the surface of the cargo as it is breathable and allows water vapour to escape, protecting the integrity of the shipment, according to the airline.
