FTW'S PARENT company Now Media has embraced the electronic age with gusto to provide the freight industry with possibly the most comprehensive range of internet-based information options in South Africa.
Hot off the launch pad is Trade Connections, a new web-based service which provides daily validated trade requests from Africa and the rest of the world.
A joint venture between the United Nations Development Programme and Cargo Info, the service extends beyond the matching of trade partners and offers online consultancy services relevant to the entire trade cycle.
It's a new addition to Cargo Info Africa's database which offers the freight industry a single entry point to serve all its needs - a directory of service providers, customs tariff, daily updated customs exchange rates, incoterms, daily updated sailing schedules and stack dates, airfreight schedules, as well as peripheral information like visa requirements for South Africans.
Another recent addition to the Now Media stable has been FTNow, an email-generated, free daily news alerting service which, in its first few months of operation, has already attracted a readership of close to 1000.
Cargo Info attracts more than half a million hits a month. If you are interested in gaining higher profile for your website through Cargo Info, contact CIA editor, Philipp Pfeifer, at (011)327 4062.
If you have not yet registered for FTNow's free daily news service, email the editor at joyo@nowmedia.co.za and your name will be added to the list.
