ZIM Integrated Shipping Services has entered into a new operational cooperation agreement with MSC, designed to enhance operational efficiencies and elevate service levels.
It will include services connecting the Indian subcontinent with the East Mediterranean, the East Mediterranean with Northern Europe, and routes connecting East Asia with Oceania.
The agreement involves vessel sharing, slot purchases, and swap arrangements.
According to Eli Glickman, ZIM president and CEO, it is intended to deliver cost efficiencies for both carriers.
“Our decade-long partnership with MSC has spanned multiple trades over the years, and today encompasses, among others, Asia, the Pacific Northwest, Oceania, India, East-Med, Northern Europe, and more.”
He said the move was part of a proactive approach amidst continued near-term headwinds in the container shipping market.
