The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) has urged motorists and trucks to avoid the R550 road between Magagula Heights and Tsietse, especially at night.
This follows the looting and torching of three trucks over three nights last week.
According to the EMPD the alleged perpetrators pretended to be service delivery protesters to stop the vehicles and loot them before torching them.
The department and South African Police Services were patrolling the area more intensively, the EMPD said.
