FOLLOWING THE incorporation of Renfreight into Safcor Panalpina in January this year, Pete Williams has been appointed managing director to assist chairman Philip Womersley.
Williams, who takes up his new position on July 1, has been with Safcor Panalpina for four and a half years. He was previously national seafreight executive.
He sees his primary role in driving the process of forming a unified and cohesive culture and workforce. "From a statutory and admin process, we have largely completed the integration process but there is still a lot of work to do," he told FTW.
He will also focus on continued product development.
Other executive appointments to the board are: Bruce Thoresson, sales and marketing director; Charles Speed-Andrews, regional director, Gauteng sea; Dave Logan, commercial director; Dieter Rothman, regional director, Eastern Cape; Henry Visser, airfreight director; John Cummins, regional director, KZN; Neville Thompson, financial director; Sean McSweeney, human resources director; and Steve Goslett, regional director Western Cape.
