Standard Bank board member and one of the special envoys President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed to help encourage R1.2 trillion in foreign direct investment, Jacko Maree, will have another stab at what some detractors might say is an insurmountable goal when he attends the 7th Tokyo Conference on African Development.
The conference will be held from Wednesday to Friday in the port city of Yokohama.
Other speakers expected to attend the event include African investor and philanthropist, Tony Elumelu, as well as Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines.
African Innovation and start-up activity across the continent will dominate discussion during the three-day conference and speakers like Maree are expected to elaborate on the continent’s position in relation to multilateral business partnerships.
