Valuable and vulnerable shipments have been allocated dedicated resources for improved security and vigilance as part of Qatar Airways Cargo’s Vision 27 and “Next Generation” strategy.
The new service, SecureLift, can now be applied to the following high-value products: precious metals, stones, gold bullions, banknotes, jewellery and watches.
SecureLift also applies to high-value electronics and new products, regarded as “vulnerable, by the new service.
The dedicated resources allocated under SecureLift include priority loading, close cargo movement monitoring, secure handling, approved data feed, as well as secure road freight and safe storage.
Ensuring that cargo integrity is maintained while in transit, specialised boxes will be used for SecureLift loads.
Secure storage is also guaranteed through restricted strong-room access.
The sheikdom’s carrier said it believes SecureLife to be a milestone for Qatar Airways Cargo.
