Maersk Line, the US imprint of Danish carrier Maersk, has settled the litigation matter brought against it after a complaint of sexual harassment was levelled against the company by a female seafarer known only as ‘Midshipman Y’.
In light of Midshipman Y’s ongoing attempts to keep the matter as discreet as possible, details of the settlement have not been made public.
It is understood that neither will any details of the settlement be revealed at any point in the future.
Settlement of the matter between Midshipman Y and Maersk Line follows another sexual harassment case between Midshipman Hope Hicks and the line, which was also settled.
Hicks had formerly been known only as ‘Midshipman X’, but decided to break her cover to intensify awareness about sexual harassment at the US Merchant Marine Academy.
