South Africa is one step closer to opening up the Chinese market to South African pears, according to a statement from Hortgro, the deciduous fruit growers’ association.
A Chinese delegation, facilitated by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, visited the South African pear industry in March with a view to fast-tracking the process.
