South Africa will co-host the China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) in the Guandong province in China from October 10 to 13.
According to a government statement released yesterday (Sunday), the aim of co-hosting the event is to unlock markets for small businesses and cooperatives.
“It is important for aspirant entrepreneurs to understand market opportunities in order to run successful and sustainable businesses,” said Small Business Development minister Lindiwe Zulu.
Zulu will also be leading a delegation of over 30 South African enterprises from various sectors such as agro-processing, jewellery manufacturing, engineering and infrastructure development to the fair.
“The CISMEF presents an opportunity to all participants to share experiences, network and learn from each other and to initiate business partnerships,” she said. “I am confident that co-hosting CISMEF will help sustain the momentum of an entrepreneurial revolution that is currently under way in South Africa.”
Delegates will be exhibiting their products at the fair as well as participating in the Bank of China’s small and medium enterprises cross-border business match-making activity.
