Construction on the R227-million Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works roadworks project on the R43 between Worcester and Wyzersdrift is expected to be completed by October this year.
As part of the expansion process, the Breede River Bridge between Rawsonville and Worcester in the Western Cape will be closed from today (Friday) to Sunday and again from 12 to 14 May for necessary repairs and widening. The 500-metre-long bridge has 40 spans and is being widened from 6 to 11.4 metres.
Signage indicating the closure dates will be erected in Worcester and Rawsonville. During this period access to Nekkies Resort and Brandvlei Correctional Services will only be available from the Rawsonville side.
