Qatar Airways Cargo’s airfreight tonnage increased by 37.5% last year, according to the latest figures released by the world’s third largest international airfreight carrier.
This translates to 1 520 000 tonnes in 2015 compared with 1 104 000 tonnes the previous year.
As more aircraft join the expanding fleet and more destinations are added to the route network, further tonnage growth is expected for 2016, said Ulrich Ogiermann, Qatar Airways’ chief cargo officer.
