Qatar Airways Cargo has introduced a range of “AirPlus Solutions” for temperature-sensitive cargo, enabling agents to prioritise perishable shipments – Q-Climate, Q-Plus and Q-Prime.
The Q-Climate option provides temperature control for general and sensitive cargo categories.
This includes ramp protection from external weather conditions, with customers able to select from three standard temperature ranges: COL (+2°C to +8°C), CRT (+15°C to +25°C), or ERT (+2°C to +25°C). Q-Plus offers “prioritised capacity” for time-sensitive shipments, ensuring priority handling on confirmed flights or the next available flight if the requested one is not available.
This option is available as an add-on for Qatar Airways Cargo’s existing cargo options: General Cargo, SecureLift (for valuable cargo), Fresh Care (for perishable goods), and Drive (for automobiles).
Lastly, Q-Prime guarantees urgent shipments will receive prioritised processing, the best or preferred connections, and offers a money-back guarantee if the shipment does not travel as scheduled. In urgent cases, Q-Prime also allows access to capacity on full flights where possible.
This solution includes Control Tower monitoring throughout the shipment's journey and can be added to Qatar Airways Cargo’s General Cargo, SecureLift (for valuable and sensitive cargo), Fresh (for perishable goods), and Drive (for automotive cargo).
Qatar’s chief cargo officer, Mark Drusch, said the introduction of AirPlus Solutions was based on the understanding that clients had unique requirements and often needed additional flexibility.
“We are offering tailored options to best meet our customers’ needs, while maintaining our best-in-class service.”
