Five years after opening an office in Richards Bay, Lovemore Bros has invested in a new warehouse and state-of-the-art equipment at the facility. “The decision to open an office in the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) has proven to be the right one,” co-director Bruce Lovemore told FTW. “The RBIDZ is perfectly placed to offer maximum advantages to heavy industry growth. It is close to the deep-water port of Richards Bay, has uncongested access and ultra-modern infrastructure. We have firmly established the business as a local service provider in Richards Bay offering a full range of operations from machine moving and rigging to mechanical projects, abnormal load transport and warehousing. It has involved some big investments, but it is all part of a long-term strategy that allows for the expansion of our business in line with the upturn of the country’s economy.” Lovemore said the newly built warehouse in Richards Bay had been equipped with a 25-ton overhead crane with a 16m floor to ceiling height to handle abnormal cargo. “This facility has been designed to handle project-related cargo but is flexible enough to cater for general requirements such as container packing and unpacking,” he said. “We have purchased several state-of-the-art multi-axle trailers that can be assembled in many different configurations to suit the specific load to be carried. Self-propelled power units and remote-controlled guidance are also features. Hydraulic gantries up to 500-ton capacity combine efficiently to do the loading and offloading.” The company has also purchased Jack and Slide equipment used for side shifting heavy loads along with strandjack towers that are effectively used for unlimited height lifting The RBIDZ is perfectly placed to offer maximum advantages to heavy industry growth. – Bruce Lovemore
