The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has officially announced that it has terminated the services of Mitchell Cotts Maritime and Frabrmar Srl to issue shipping documentation for that country.
Effective immediately, all necessary clearing documentation for goods destined for the DRC must be obtained via Transcom in Germiston and, in terms of non-South African originating SADC shipments, through Africa Union Cargo in Walvis Bay.
The embassy statement said “in order to reinforce the control and traceability of imports to the country it requires all goods or merchandise being exported to the DRC from the Republic of South Africa to be covered by the following two documents: the Electronic Data Sheet and Import (Feri) for maritime cargo, and the CD or Certificate for Destination applicable to all road freight”.
