Italian energy group ENI has announced the discovery of a new oil well in block 15/06 in deep waters of the Angolan sea.
The Ndungu-1 NFW well, where the discovery was made, is estimated to contain at least 250 million barrels of light oil, according to an ENI statement.
This is the fourth commercial discovery since the block 15/06 partnership – which includes Angola’s state firm, Sonangol – launched its new prospecting campaign in mid-2018.
