Lufthansa Cargo has appointed Reneé Peltzer as the new head of sales and handling for southern Africa, effective July 1. Peltzer, who previously served as the commercial manager, brings extensive experience and expertise to her new role.
Her appointment is a milestone for Lufthansa Cargo as it aims to expand its presence in southern Africa. She is the first South African and the first woman to hold this position. Her responsibilities include driving growth and improving operational efficiencies across the region.
“I am extremely excited to take on this role in our region and look forward to driving new ideas and solutions to exceed our customers' expectations,” said Peltzer.
“The cargo sector is an ever-changing and challenging environment and I look forward to working closely with my team and our customers to develop our region even further,” she said.
According to Dr André Schulz, head of the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and CIS region at Lufthansa Cargo, Peltzer's appointment reflects the company's hiring philosophy of localising as much as possible to tap into regional knowledge and promote gender diversity.
He said Peltzer, who has also worked for Lufthansa on the passenger side, brings a new perspective to the business. “Few people fully understand both revenue streams. Now, we have someone who comprehends both passenger and cargo sales, offering expertise that is essential for a comprehensive view of the entire business,” said Schulz.
