Maersk has added another development to its growing airfreight reach since Maersk Air Cargo (MAC) was launched as a hub service from Billund Airport in Denmark in April 2022.
According to the line, MAC "airfreight solutions can now be easily booked for 70,000 airports across over 90 countries."
The new digital platform combines instant pricing with value-added services, Maersk said.
The Danish carrier said the platform’s launch was necessitated to make it easier for shippers and agents to find affordable airfreight options for the movement of air cargo.
Darryl Judd, Head of Air Freight for MAC in India, the Middle East and Africa, said: "In today’s age, where volatility and uncertainty have become perpetual potential threats to the global supply chains, our customers are looking for agility and resilience that allows them to make quick decisions around the movement of their cargo across borders.
“By booking with us, our customers get instant prices, and the transparency allows them to make informed decisions. Today, manufacturing has truly diversified with global value chains. We are noticing that customers sitting in one part of the world need to move raw material from origin to destination without being at either of the locations. Our digital air freight solution allows them to make such bookings seamlessly."
