Demand for container storage solutions continue to increase in Windhoek. According to Mathieu van Hout of Container World Namibia, there is especially demand for solutions within Windhoek with many looking for opportunities to secure long-term agreements on the land. In an effort to meet this demand, the company is expanding and is set to open a new storage facility in the Prosperita Industrial Area in Windhoek within the next few months. Van Hout said though, that the outlook on the
container sales sector within Namibia was very weak. “There is limited supply reaching our shores, with inflated sales prices as a result. Currently in the lease sector, demand is on the increase, both at our storage facilities and externally,” he said. “Recovery to the large demand as seen a few years back, when the construction and mining sectors were booming, is still several years away and we may never return to those numbers.”
