Trucking journalist Patrick O’Leary has told the Transit Assistance Bureau that the Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) has said that the N3 has been reopened.
The message was received at 10:24 this morning.
The rest of the message says: “Although the road will be open 24/7 as opposed to the original plan to open it only during daylight hours from 6.00am to 6.00pm, the RTIA is recommending that everyone try as best as they can to travel during the day for safety reasons.”
He said the RTIA had urged all truckers to take extra care in terms of safe driving as they were concerned about people rushing and crashes leading to hold-ups on the road.
“Law enforcement personnel are being deployed at all the identified hotspots.
“The road is open.”
